Todd Perkins Announced as Featured Artist for 2023 Ridgeland Fine Arts Festival
The Ridgeland Fine Arts Festival announces Todd Perkins as the featured artist for the annual event set for May 5-7, 2023, in Ridgeland, Mississippi.

For Perkins, art is all about inspiration and literally putting that inspiration into someone’s hands. The word ‘art’ comes from an ancient Indo-European language that means ‘to fit together.’ By taking found items and other ephemera, he likes to create guitar sculptures which can form a connection with someone through art and music.
Born in Fort Worth, Texas, Perkins has lived in Colorado since 2001. After owning a successful home improvement business for nine years, he decided to combine his desire to work for himself and his ability to build things into a new creative medium: making custom guitar art out of license plates and other unique materials. He hopes to create art with which people can feel an instant attachment.
In his Denver-based studio, Perkins creates unique guitar art in which everyday objects are altered or detached from their natural function to create a one-of-a-kind sculpture. For the Ridgeland Fine Arts Festival, Perkins wanted to create a unique piece of art that embodied everything the city of Ridgeland has to offer. By using photos of different aspects of current life there, he incorporated those into a one-of-a-kind, vintage-looking postcard, reminiscent of the late 1940s and early 1950s.
"I am thrilled and honored to be the featured artist at this year's Art, Wine and Wheels event,” Perkins said. “The hospitality and support are top notch and I'm so happy to be invited back to the 2023 Festival!”
